As part of the Year31Project I have eaten some fairly unusual foods:

And I am definitely planning to do some more food related challenges:
  • eat a raw egg
  • eat a spoonful of cinnamon
  • eat a donut without licking my lips
  • take part in an eating contest

However, the actual eating task on the original list was 'eat insects'.

Now I reckon that eating insects is probably one of the easier tasks on the list to complete? There must be shops/restaurants in London where you can buy/order insects? And I'm guessing that they're fairly inexpensive? I'm also quite up for it. The only reason I haven't done it so far is because in true Anthony Hett fashion I'm unorganised and I haven't gotten around to it yet. It's that simple!

And then a couple of days ago something "strange" happened.
I was stir frying brocoli and red pepper:

When I saw this in the pan:

Can you see what it is?

What would you do? Would you eat it? I'm not sure if I would have even thought about eating it for a second if I wasn't doing the Year31Project. But sometimes you have just got to go with the flow. Take the opportunity presented to you. Seize the day. Sometimes things just appear as though they're meant to be. So here goes nothing:

& so there you have it. I ate a caterpillar! & I have another thing that I can cross off my list eat insects.
